More Experts Confirm Cap and Trade Bill is a Farce

The Brookings Institute, the National Black Chamber of Commerce, and The Heritage Foundation all agree that Waxman-Markey bill will have a devastating effect on the GDP, the economy, and cost millions of net jobs. All to lower the earth’s temperature in 2050 by 0.09 degrees Fahrenheit (Climatologist Chip Knappenberger, see here). That’s right 0.09 degrees.
The Brookings Institute estimates that the GDP will be 2.5 percent less in 2050 resulting from the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 and would result in 1.7 million jobs in the first decade.
In the David Montgomery et al. report, Impact on the Economy of the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 (H.R.2454), prepared for the National Black Chamber of Commerce by CRA International, May 2009, they predict an unemployment rate of 2.3-2.7 million jobs higher in each year the policy is in effect until 2030 and cost about $350 Billion (1.3 percent of the GDP).
Heritage Foundation estimates show an even graver impact. The overall accumulated GDP loss form 2012 to 2035 is $9.4 Trillion, that’s right, almost $10 trillion. With 2.5 million jobs less than without cap and trade after taking into account the green jobs that will be created. To put this in perspective in 2020, the GDP loss alone will $160 Billion. Want to know the impact on your pocket book? Well, for a family of four that’s $1870 in 2009 dollars.
EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson admitted that the bill will have little effect on lowering carbon emissions without China and India, watch the video:

Can we really afford to place a horrendous burden on children and our grandchildren for something that will result in essentially nothing except making a few ultra liberals feel good about themselves.  The more we learn about this, the more we see that this is not right for America.  Again I say, Senators Unite and put this piece of trash legislation to bed for good.
It's time to stand up America... Before capitalism is destroyed, our children are smothered by huge government and a mountain of debt... and the American Dream is no more.
